Corporate culture plays an increasingly important role in the development of modern businesses. Beyond their professional responsibilities, employees need opportunities to connect, share experiences, and build stronger relationships with one another.
With this in mind, Polvita organized its annual Spring Excursion on February 10, 2023, taking employees on a cultural and spiritual journey to Thuong Temple, Va Temple and Mia Pagoda in Son Tay and Ba Vi, Hanoi.
For Vietnamese people, visiting temples and pagodas at the beginning of the Lunar New Year is a long-standing cultural and spiritual tradition. The journey provided the Polvita team with an opportunity to welcome the new year, explore places of cultural significance, and spend meaningful time together.
A Morning Journey to Thuong Temple
The group gathered at the Polvita office at around 7:30 a.m. Despite the cool weather and drizzle, everyone was ready for the journey. After a little more than an hour on the road, the team arrived at Thuong Temple, located on Mount Tan Vien.
Situated at an elevation of approximately 1,227 meters, Thuong Temple is dedicated to Saint Tan Vien, one of the Four Immortals in Vietnamese folk belief.
The temple is known for its distinctive architecture, harmoniously integrated with the natural rock formations of Mount Tan Vien. Its solemn setting and surrounding mountain landscape created a peaceful atmosphere for the team to begin the spring excursion.
After visiting the temple and having lunch, everyone continued the journey to the next destinations: Va Temple and Mia Pagoda.
Exploring the Heritage of Va Temple
Located on Va Hill, Va Temple is surrounded by ancient trees and a tranquil natural landscape.
The temple complex features distinctive traditional architecture and is enclosed by laterite walls more than two meters high. According to local geomantic traditions, the shape of the surrounding hill resembles a golden turtle moving toward the rising sun, adding another layer of cultural significance to the site.
The peaceful surroundings provided an opportunity for everyone to slow down, appreciate the landscape, and learn more about the cultural heritage associated with the region.
A Visit to Historic Mia Pagoda
The final destination was Mia Pagoda, located in the historic ancient village of Duong Lam.
Mia Pagoda is renowned for its collection of beautiful traditional Buddhist statues and attracts visitors from across Vietnam throughout the year. Among its most notable statues are Snow Mountain Bodhisattva (Tuyet Son), Mia Princess (Ba Chua Mia), and Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva.
Many of the statues are carved from jackfruit wood and finished with traditional red lacquer and gold leaf, reflecting the craftsmanship and artistic heritage of Vietnamese Buddhist culture.
For the Polvita team, the visit offered not only a spiritual experience but also an opportunity to discover an important part of Vietnam’s cultural heritage.
More Than a Spring Excursion
Surrounded by peaceful landscapes and open natural spaces, the three destinations offered an ideal setting for a spring outing.
Although the long day of walking left everyone a little tired, the journey brought something more valuable: a sense of relaxation, connection, and renewed energy.
It was particularly meaningful for employees from different departments who, for much of the year, work together primarily through online communication. Spending time together in person helped colleagues understand one another better and strengthen relationships beyond their day-to-day work.
Welcoming a New Year Together
As the team returned to the busy streets of Hanoi, everyone brought back more than memories of the journey.
The excursion provided a refreshing start to the new year — an opportunity to reconnect, recharge, and look ahead with enthusiasm and optimism.
Polvita wishes all employees and their families a new year filled with good health, prosperity, peace and happiness.
A new year, a renewed spirit, and a stronger team moving forward together.
