Larytix® is a medical device designed to soothe and aid in the treatment of viral and bacterial infections of the throat mucosa, as well as dryness and irritation in the throat and oral cavity. The product’s ingredients coat the throat mucosa with a protective film that limits the adhesion, penetration, and spread of allergens, bacteria, and viruses—such as rhinoviruses and coronaviruses. Larytix® also supports the recovery of irritated mucosa. Its thixotropic properties prevent the product from running off the mucosal surfaces of the throat and oral cavity.
The product can be used to reduce mucosal swelling caused by infection and as a preventive measure to protect the oral cavity and throat from pathogens and harmful external factors, such as allergens, dry or hot air, etc.
The key ingredients of Larytix® are kappa-carrageenan and fucoidan. The antiviral mechanism of kappa-carrageenan and fucoidan relies on reducing adhesion capabilities and blocking receptors on cell surfaces. Kappa-carrageenan and fucoidan form a barrier on the mucosal surface, thereby preventing interaction between viruses and cell surfaces. Additionally, the product contains xylitol, which inhibits the adhesion and growth of pathogenic bacteria on the surface of pharyngeal epithelial cells.
What makes Larytix unique?
Thanks to its unique thixotropic properties, Larytix® forms a moisturizing protective film on the mucous membranes of the throat and oral cavity. This film acts as a barrier, protecting the throat and oral cavity against external agents. The product’s ingredients inhibit bacterial adhesion and prevent rhinoviruses and coronaviruses from penetrating the throat mucosa—the primary cause of throat infections. This can help reduce the need for pharmacological treatment in cases of viral throat infections and may lower the risk of secondary bacterial infections.

As an adjunct in the treatment of allergic, bacterial, and viral throat inflammation
